The Nicely Family

For 25 years Rick has served in the area of student ministry in churches across the state of Virginia. After serving the last 12 years as the high school Pastor at Spotswood, the Lord is now leading the Nicely’s to the Ladysmith area to plant a new church. Pray for the Nicely family as they boldly follow God’s leading in fulfilling his command of making disciples and planting churches. Rick and his beautiful wife Michelle have been married for over 20 years and love being the parents of their two daughters, Hope and Emmi .

The Stone Family

Jim Stone currently serves as our Associate Pastor. He and his wife Elaine have served for 42 years in multiple full-time pastoral positions in Maryland and Virginia. They've committed their lives to serving people to the glory of God: spreading His love and hope. Being married for 39 years, they have three married children: Aaron & Missy, Jesse & Brooke, and Olivia & Daniel. They also share six grandchildren earth-side and one residing in heaven. They are thrilled to begin their partnership at River Rock; thanking God for this new ministry adventure.

The Smith family

Both Jeff and Pam Smith gave their hearts to Christ at young ages.  Jeff served in various ways in his local church during his college years, and Pam grew up as a "missionary kid" in Hong Kong.  Together they have led small groups and served in various local church ministries from northern Virginia to Fredericksburg during many of their 24 years of marriage.

Jeff and Pam have seen a need for, and have had a desire to be part of, a church plant to Ladysmith since the time they used to live in the Carmel Church area 15 years ago.  Jeff and Pam are excited about what God is doing in the life of River Rock Church as disciples are made and the local community is impacted for God's Kingdom.  Jeff works in Washington, D.C. and Pam is the Head of Secondary at Grace Preparatory School in Stafford.  They are blessed with two daughters, Kylie and Katrina.

the morrow family

Jonathan was born and raised in the Fredericksburg area and currently works locally at M&M Auto Parts. The Lord led his family to Ladysmith and he is passionate about helping people meet the real Jesus. Not the watered down, easy to digest commercialized version of Jesus that has been created by culture and sometimes the church, but the Jesus we discover in the Bible. He has been married to his beautiful bride Ruthie for over 13 years and they have two awesome boys Jack and Eli. Our life is a constant adventure!

the johnson family

Matt was saved by God as a child through the ministry of the local church but it was at college through the ministry of the local church that Matt became exposed to intentional discipleship and church planting. Matt has been serving at River Rock since it was planted and currently oversees the community groups and assists in preaching and teaching. In addition to serving at River Rock, Matt supports our US military through civil service. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica, and blessed with two beautiful children.

Currently, he is a college adjunct professor, and River Rock elder, member of the stewardship committee and community group leader. Jose and his wife Mary have been married for over 32 years and are blessed by two adult children, a daughter in law, and one amazing grandson.
